Mrs. Shirley Mae Marks Musmeci

Shirley Mae Marks Musmeci, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 13 at Ochsner Hospital surrounded by her loving daughters. Born to the late Mary and John Marks in New Orleans on May 21, 1920. She was raised in Carrollton, and was a resident of Metairie for the past 33 years. She was a manager for H.G. Hill Stores, owned a grocery store in Lakeview, and was employed by Sampling for Sales for several years. After her retirement, she was an active member of the Golden Ages Club at Lakeshore Playground where she served as Treasurer. Mrs. Musmeci was preceded in death by her first husband, Roma Paul Arbisi, her second husband John Joseph Musmeci Sr, to whom she was married for 52 years, her children John Musmeci and Shirley Musmeci, and her brothers, John Marks, William Marks and Alfred Marks. Beloved mother of Jean Arbisi Richard, Jai Arbisi, Jane Arbisi Shapiro, Jeri Musmeci Bennett and Sherri Musmeci Bourgeois. She is also survived by her grandchildren Randi Kamhi, Juli Richard Guilbeaux, Ashli Richard, Lesli Richard, Kristi Richard Younginger, Brett Bennett, Jordan Bennett, and Dane Bourgeois. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Schoen Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, at 12:30 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2010. Visitation is 9:00AM until service time.
