Ida Mae (Boxberger) Cook, age 72 of New Plymouth, passed away at home Thursday January 4, 2018 in New Plymouth, ID. Ida Mae (Boxberger) Cook passed away unexpectedly at home the morning of January 4, 2018. Services will be held Thursday January 11, 2018 at 3pm at the Veterans Cemetery in Boise, where Ida Mae will be laid to rest. Funeral services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth.
She was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on February 28, 1945, the 7th of 8 children of Alexander and Ida (Krieter) Boxberger. The family moved to Oklahoma until Ida Mae was 4, then settled in Fruitland, Idaho. They moved to Vale, Oregon in 1962 where Ida Mae graduated high school in 1963.
Ida Mae lived in Caldwell, Idaho for a number of years. She married Donald D. “Don” Cook in Winnemucca, Nevada on October 12, 1977. Ida Mae and Don moved their family to New Plymouth where they had resided since 1978.
She is survived by son Dennis (Sharon) Cook of Boise, son Stephen Cook of New Plymouth, daughter Mandy (Christian) Saums of Meridian, as well as grandchildren Alyssa and Lexi Cook and Cydney and Carson Saums.
Ida Mae was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, one sister, and husband Don on August 14, 2016.
