She was a member of MCM Baptist Church and has attended The Church at Argyle in Jacksonville, FL for the last several years where she was a member of a Ladies Life Group. She was a housewife who was devoted to taking care of her 3 children but especially her handicapped daughter Melinda. She worked at the Little Red School House which was created in Claiborne County for handicapped children. She later worked at Barbara’s Fashions as a clerk and then worked for many years at Enix Jewelry Store in New Tazewell, TN. In recent years she lived in Orange Park, FL with her daughter Teresa and Son in law Tim Runyan. She attended Adult Day Care programs at River Garden Senior Services and The Addison of Oakleaf Memory Care. She formed very close relationships with staff at these programs and they loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Noah; mother Willie Mae Noah; husband Kenneth Simmons; daughter Melinda Simmons; son David L. Simmons; brothers Billy Noah, Bob Noah and Wayne Noah; sisters Betty Noah and Judy Noah Meyers.
She is survived by her sister Bonnie Noah Day (Loy); daughter and son-in-law Teresa Simmons Runyan & Tim Runyan of Orange Park, Florida; daughter-in-law Patricia Simmons; grandson Matthew Simmons (Erin) of Tazewell; granddaughter Megan Simmons McCall (Michael) of Knoxville, TN; grandsons Phillip Runyan "Ty X. Zephyr" of Denver, CO; Patrick Runyan of Jacksonville, FL; and Nicholas Runyan of Winter Garden, FL.; great-Grandsons Hudson & Mason McCall of Knoxville, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Private viewing for immediate family will be held on April 26, 2025 at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell at 10:00. Visitation for friends and extended family 11:00-1:00; Graveside funeral service will follow at Irish Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Songs by Living Water. Burial will be at Irish Memorial Gardens.
