Elbert Gilbert

Elbert lived in Monroe, Michigan from 1946 until 2003 where he met and married Grace Rickard. They had two sons. He worked at McLouth Steel for 30 years in Trenton, Michigan and he enjoyed CB radio. In 2003, Elbert and Grace made their home in Jonesville, Virginia where they attended the Woodway United Methodist Church.

Elbert was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ardell Gilbert; brothers, Jess Gilbert and Earl Nelson; aunt, Carrie Gilbert England and his father, James Wesley Gilbert.

He is survived by his:

Loving wife of 61 years: Grace Gilbert of Jonesville, Va.

Sons and Daughters-in-law: Kenneth Roy (Denise) Gilbert of Michigan

Bruce Ray (Tracy) Gilbert of Pennington Gap, Va.

Several grandchildren and great grandchildren

Sister: Irene Anderson of Jonesville, Va.

And many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive from 6-8 PM Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011 at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate. Funeral service will be at 12 noon Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Harrogate with Rev. Norman Clark officiating. Burial to follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery.
