Irene Runions

She was saved at an early age and was a member at Lone Holly Baptist Church. Irene was trained as a nurse in her younger years. She was someone who took care of people and besides being a nurse, she was a housekeeper and nanny. During her time as a nanny she made many friends and acquaintances. Through the years Irene always remembered everyone's birthday and she never once forgot to make her grandkids a fruit basket for Christmas! Irene always took great pride in everything she did for her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mebb and Hazel Coffey; husband, Ed Runions; brother, "Pete" Coffey and sister, Peggy Coffey Russell.

She is survived by her children: Rebecca "Beck" (Rodney) Brantley; Wendy (Michael) Thomas;

Grandchildren: Deanna (Ashley) Coffey, Mary Goins, Macey Barnes, Gabrielle Prewitt, Brookelyn Killion.

Great Grandchildren: Courtney Daniels, Isaac Daniels, Abigail Daniels, Greg Goins, Shyann Baker and Holden Prewitt;

Brothers: Bill Coffey and Roger Coffey.

Brother-in-law: LeRoy Russell and a host of other relatives and friends that she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends Sunday May 7, 2023 from 12 Noon until 3:00 P.M. at Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday at 3:00 P.M. in the Coffey funeral Home Chapel, graveside service will follow in the Greer Cemetery.
