Joseph Nathenial Buis

Joseph Natheniel Buis 97, of Tazewell passed away in his sleep at his home, Sunday October 2, 2016. Joe was a long time member of the New Tazewell United Methodist Church and a member of the DAV. Joe was a World War II Veteran in General Patton’s Third Army. When he came home from the war, he married his beautiful wife, Grace Overton. They were married for 67 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He lived a simple life and loved the land which he farmed for more than 60 years. Joe loved to dance and play his fiddle that he brought back from Germany after the war. He was a man of integrity and endurance. He ran the race of life with courage and dignity. He was preceded in death by his parents Maude and John L. Buis, his siter Anne Buis and his brother John L. Buis, Jr. ;Joe is survived by his loving wife Grace Overton Buis; Daughters: Lela Elaine Buis

he family will be receiving friends Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the New Tazewell United Methodist Church, with the funeral service following at 8:00. Military Graveside services will be Friday, October 7, 2017 at the Irish Memorial Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
