Lela Mae Money

Lela Money, age 74, of Tazewell, TN passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 after a long illness. She was born in Leslie County, KY on August 7, 1943, the daughter of the late Della and Isaac Maggard. She enjoyed many years working in the restaurant business, namely Shoney’s of Harrogate, TN. She was the dining room manager there from 1988 until her retirement in 2005. Lela was a member of Greer’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Harrogate, TN. She had a smile that would light up a room and loved to laugh.

She is preceded in death by her three brothers; Tip Maggard, Bill Maggard, Omer Maggard ( Mary), and her four sisters; Katherine Maggard, Cledia (Woodrow) Vernon, Alberta (Joe) Browning, and Shirley Fouts,

Lela is survived by her brother, Jim (Victoria) Maggard , one sister, Laura Betty Viers , one brother-in-law Johnny Fouts, four daughters: Della Boggs, Diana Billingsley (Lee), Kathy Williams (Randy), and Sandy Southern (Brady), her eight grandchildren: Chris (Sherry) Billingsley, Kevin Billingsley, Natasha (Isaac) Nunn, Josh Williams, Tyler (Joy) Williams, Cameron Schultz, Kalyn Patterson, and Taylor Bryant. Her five great grandchildren include Jacob Billingsley, Caleb Billingsley, Lailah Nunn, Landon Nunn, and Victor Brooks, three very dear friends: Vickie Worrell, Randalene Collins, and Yvette Serafinski, plus numerous loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice for the exceptional care they provided. Dr. Morrison and the entire staff demonstrated a genuine love for our mother and we are truly humbled and grateful to you all.

The family will receive friends Friday November 24th from 5 until 7 PM at Coffey Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be Saturday November 25th at 1 PM in the Boggs Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers : Chris Billingsley, Kevin Billingsley, Josh Williams, Tyler Williams, Cameron Schultz, Jacob Billingsley, Caleb Billingsley, Lailah Nunn, and Isaac Nunn.
