Warren Welch

Warren Gene Welch, age 85, was born Jan. 8, 1925 and went to be with the Lord, Sept. 21, 2010 after a long illness. He was a lifelong member of Red Hill Baptist Church and that community. He was a WWII Veteran and was honored with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a farmer and first class carpenter . Warren was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet “Basie” Treece Welch and father, Frelon Welch; nephew with whom he was raised, Earl Treece; sister, Hattie Manning and brother-in-law, Grant Manning.

He left behind to mourn his passing, his devoted Wife of 64 years, Juanita West Welch who loved and cared for him until his death;

Daughters, Glenda (Don) Wilder of Harrogate, Tn,

Louise (Rev. Bruce) Woodruff of Speedwell, Tn.,

Rebecca (Bobby) Bush of Tazewell, Tn and

Christine (Gary) Wallen of Tazewell, Tn;

Sister, Jeanette Welch of Speedwell, Tn.;

Grandchildren, Melissa Wilder (George) Brock, Michael Wilder, Jason (Katherine) Woodruff, Robert Bush, Mitchell Wallen, Matthew Wallen, Adam (Jennifer) Welch and Creta Welch (Darrell) Johnson; great grandchildren, Allyson & Autumn Brock, Addison Welch, Kristen Johnson, Sam, Ben and Annie Woodruff.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 with funeral service to follow at 8:00PM at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Harrogate. Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at the Old Red Hill Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers are Michael Wilder, Jason Woodruff, Robert Bush, Mitchell Wallen, Matthew Wallen and Adam Welch.
