Adele Marie Maddry passed away on June 4, 2019 in New York City. She was born in New Orleans, LA on January 31, 1959. Her parents were Dr. Edgar L. Maddry and Marie Dolores Holt Maddry. Adele’s siblings are E.L. Maddry, Jr. (1941-1951), Dede M. Frantz (Hank Frantz), Emmett Holt Maddry (Deanna Kulla), and Joseph Andrew Maddry (Clare Groover). Anne Han Poon and Sin Kie Poon are her sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
Adele lived briefly in Metairie, LA and Biloxi, MS before moving to Dublin, GA, where she completed grammar school and high school (1976), excelling in mathematics. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Georgia in 1980, majoring in Dance and Movement Therapy. She moved to New York City after college and fell in love with the city that became her home. There, Adele met Kerry Han, the love of her life, who became her husband in 1997. In the city, Adele worked at various hospitals in the pediatric psychiatry departments while completing degrees in dance therapy and in psychiatric social work.
Adele received her Masters of Social Work from Hunter College of The City University of New York on January 26, 1999. In May of the same year she also became a Licensed Certified Social Worker. After working in various mental health clinics in New York City, she decided to obtain further training. This resulted in her proudest professional moment: starting her own private practice in a beautiful location on Central Park West. She helped many patients and many have come to respect her clinical skills and even to love her as a person.
Adele will be sorely missed by all her family, which also includes seven nephews, one niece, three grand nephews, one grand niece, and many cousins.
She is at rest now. For those who loved her, keep her in your hearts from the first day you met her until your last days. That’s all any of us can ask for in this life. Rest in peace Adele.

Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand
