A loving wife, mother, and grandmother with an exuberant passion for life, Ann’s capacity for warmth, compassion, friendship and love embraced all those she touched. She and H. Weston Clarke, Jr., her husband of almost 59 years, were deeply committed to each other and to their children and grandchildren. We mourn Ann’s passing, but our memories are full of the grace and spirit with which she lived.
Ann was a dedicated pianist, artist, skier, and golfer who enjoyed the arts, literature, and spending time at the beach. She cherished traveling the world with her husband seeking new adventures; in particular her time skiing the Swiss Alps with family and friends. Her life was not without adversity, but she met every challenge with a positive spirit and an unwillingness to be held back.
Ann is survived by her husband, as well as her son, H. MacGregor Clarke, daughter, Lisa Clarke Sockett, and four granddaughters.
