A New Yorker through and through, she lived a vivid and wonderful life, replete with love and laughter. Her generosity was legend, as was her propensity to curse like a sailor. She was the definition of brimming, full of fun, a vast supplier of yard sale finds and excellent food and hilarious, irreverent company. A gracious hostess humbly creating gourmet feasts of mass proportion befitting the bellies of royalty. A cinema maven, operatic yodeler, opinionated tennis viewer, and dedicated Mets fan (the only choice). A lover of loons of all kinds, she also admired owls for their wisdom and mystery, poets for their precision and craft, painters like Rothko and Schiele for the depth and intensity of their vision. We will miss so much about her, but her warmth, her vibrant laughter, her kindness, her welcome, and her capacity for joy will provide inspiration for the years to come. She is mourned by her son and daughter, family and extended family, dear friends, and many admirers.
A memorial service will be held at The Abbey (aka Riverside Chapel) at 333 Amsterdam Avenue on Saturday, May 30th at 1:00 PM.
