Barbara M. Sulzer

Barbara Sulzer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 11, 2026 at the age of 86. She was surrounded by love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Born on October 30, 1939 in Brooklyn,NY, Barbara lived a life rooted in devotion to her family. She was a steady presence—loving, strong, and quietly generous. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and familiar scents, always welcoming those she loved.

Barbara had a special way of caring for others. Whether through her kindness, her listening ear, her sense of humor, or the traditions she kept alive, she made people feel seen and cherished. She found joy in the simple things—singing, music, theater, cooking, and she carried herself with grace through life’s challenges.

She is survived by her husband, Burt; daughter, Lisa; son, Steven; daughter in law Randy; grandchildren Samantha and Ben; sister in law Nancy and her grand pups Max and Goblin. She was preceded in death by her son, Philip

Services will be held on Thursday January 15 at 12:30pm at Walter B. Cooke Funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Calvary Hospice - Memorial Sloan Kettering or that her memory be honored through acts of kindness and love.

Though she is no longer with us, Barbara’s love remains—woven into the lives she shaped, the memories she created, and the hearts she touched. Her legacy will live on always.
