Christine Ann Schneider of Upper West Side, NY passed away Sunday April 5, 2020 at her home after a very courageous battle with cancer. Born December 2, 1964 and raised in Rockland County, NY, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Elisabeth Schneider.
She is survived by her sister, Catherine Trawinski and husband Ronald, brother Andrew Schneider, nephews Brandon and Tyler Rapose, Devan and Alex Schneider and niece Katie Schneider.
Christine graduated Summa Cum Laude from Potsdam College in 1987 and received her MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business in 1993. Christine started her career as a financial analyst at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and finished as Managing Director for Jennison Associates, LLP which she referred to as her “Dream Job”.
Throughout her life she was active in many organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, HealthCare Chaplaincy Network, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the NYU Stern Alumni Association.
Christine was very compassionate and thoughtful, always empathetic to the circumstances of others. She could counsel, advise or mandate as she thought appropriate.
She made lifelong friends wherever she went and had the unique ability to draw people together. As we all know, she was the centerpoint of many new friendships.
She was well traveled and had friends all over the world. She loved to golf and in her younger years enjoyed fine wine and spirits. Her family was not limited to blood relations. She had many friends who considered her family including her at the holiday table, something she took advantage of often.
In the business world she was always on point. She was self-assured and courageous and could give a presentation to CEO’s of fortune 500 companies without breaking a sweat. She had a way about her that would endear clients but she would never leave the table without a signature on the dotted line. As she ascended through the ranks she never forgot where she came from. She was a mentor to many and always helped the people around her achieve their highest potential.
Despite her wishing to control her circumstances Christine embraced the unknown with a sense of adventure and fearlessness. She travelled to Thailand, India, Vietnam, Laos, Africa and Allentown, PA, without concern for her safety despite the significant risk to life and limb.
Of all of her vast accomplishments she was most proud of the fact that she was the favorite of her mother and father. She never failed to point that out to her brother and sister.
We have all been blessed to have known such a unique and admirable individual. She has left an indelible mark on the world and it is a better place because of her. Although she is no longer with us her spirit lives on forever.
Private Funeral will be held at 2 pm on April 11, 2020 at Frank E Campbell – The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10028.
