David Gross, loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and son, passed away on December 30, 2020 after battling Alzheimer’s disease for many years. He was born in the Bronx in 1936, graduated from both Stuyvesant High School and the City College of New York, and later served in the Army Reserves. He forged a career as a writer and editor, most notably as editor of a magazine in the apparel industry for over two decades.
He lived his entire life in New York City, and cherished weekends and vacations spent at his second home in upstate New York. These respites provided time to pursue his love of nature, especially of birds. Mr. Gross’ other passions included history and literature.
Mr. Gross is survived by his wife Miriam, to whom he was married for 59 years, his children Andrew and Adam, four grandchildren, and his sister Deborah. His wit, sagacity, and integrity will be sorely missed.
