Donald Dunne

Donald ( Donnie) Dunne of NYC passed away in the early hours of October 21, 2025 at Metropolitan Hospital in NYC. He was 88 years old.

Born and raised in New York City to the parents of Malachy Wolftone Dunne and Mary Elizabeth Dunne (Wash) also both born and raised in NYC. He was the brother of Marilyn (Dunne) Marino (Joe) and Catherine (Dunne) Koch.

Donnie serviced our country in the United States Navy and was a retired New York Firefighter for over 20 years. He loved sports, especially football and baseball and loved to travel in the early days.

Donnie is survived by his daughter Susan Ledford, his son Robert Dunne and step daughter Ginny Turnberger (Gary) all residing in South Carolina. However, he was preceded in death by his eldest son Donald A. Dunne Jr. of Jefferson, New Jersey, who passed away in November of 2022. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Erica Ferguson(Schussler) of Roxbury, New Jersey, Robert(RJ) Dunne Jr.(Becca) of Summerville, South Carolina, Lauren Hoyos (Tatiana) of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, Taylor Morris (Cody) of Summerville, South Carolina and Austin Ledford of NYC. His great grandchildren are : Cody Morris Jr., Logan Morris, and Ryker Dunne all residing in South Carolina, GinaMarie and Milani both residing in Roxbury, NJ

Visited will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 between 5:00 and 7:00 at Cooke and Nagel Funeral Home at 352 E 87th St, New York, followed by a mass at St. Joseph Church, 404 E 87th New York at 10:00 am on Saturday morning. Donnie will by laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York.
