She was a soulmate to her beloved second husband, Jack Bogart, who passed away in 2013, and a loving wife to her first husband, Saul Ginsberg, who passed away in 1979. She was a loving younger sister to dearly departed Ruth. She was heartbroken over the loss of her vibrant and beautiful daughter, Jodi, and a devoted grandmother to Jodi and her husband Wayne’s children, Sean, Kimberly and Justin. Kimberly considered Dorothy more than a grandmother and the two shared an inseparable bond. She was immeasurably proud of her son, Paul Ginsberg, and her daughter-in-law, Nicole Felton, and cherished their children Sydney, Alex, and Ben. She also relished her role as stepmother to Jane Bogart and Gary Bogart, embracing them as part of her family and supporting them throughout key milestones in their lives. Dorothy was a talented and devoted teacher in the NYC Public School System, teaching first Special Education and then Kindergarten for 20 years. After the loss of her first husband, she went to work full-time as a teacher while rearing Jodi and Paul. Not willing to stop there, she worked diligently to get her Master’s degree at Baruch College, all the while working full-time, caring for Jack, and tirelessly commuting from Long Island to Queens to Manhattan and back again. She was strong and determined until the very end. She was a friend to everyone; always interested in learning about others and knowing the name of every waitperson at every diner on Long Island. She loved going out to eat, sitting and talking to friends, watching classic black and white movies on TCM, and shopping at Bloomingdale’s. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
