

Born on April 26, 1936 in The Bronx NY to Margaret and Patrick Carroll. She was known for her faith and love of her family. She dedicated her life to working in her neighborhood as the parish Secretary at St. Monica's Church for 22 years and then as the school secretary at The Caedmon School NYC for 23 years. Her jobs brought her immense joy and support to all around her.
Eileen was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was particularly known for her love of knitting baby blankets. She would knit "One of a kind" Aran cable knit baby blankets for her family and friends.
She was best known in her Yorkville neighborhood for her "Bakery Booth" at the St. Monica's Church Christmas Bazaar. Her lemon squares were legendary as were her decorative jars of Christmas cookies at the bazaar.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Joseph Flynn in 2008. She is survived by her daughter Joan Goonan (Robert) and son Joseph (Tricia), two granddaughters Megan Shegina (Brian) and Rebecka Flynn and two great grandsons
Evan Shegina and Grant Shegina. She was predeceased by two grandchildren Erin Goonan and Sean Goonan,
A visitation will be held at Frank E. Campbell - The Funeral Chapel at 1076 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10028 on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 830am - 10am.
Mass of Christian Burial at St. Monica's Church on 413 East 79 Street, New York, NY 10075 on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 1030am.
Interment at Christ Church Cemetery, 439 S. Pine Ave, South Amboy NJ on April 17, 2026.
