George Sanford Ultan

George Sanford Ultan, age 75, of Bronx, New York passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022. George was born December 18, 1946. Accomplished architect. Son of the late Louis and Sophie Ultan, husband of Leone Ultan, brother of Lloyd Ultan. A graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and of Cooper Union, he began his career with the firm of Kahn and Jacobs, later joining other firms until he established his own, George S. Ultan, Architect. He worked on creating spaces for office buildings, commercial establishments, residences, and religious institutions. Having a creative and artistic bent, he also designed his own greeting cards for family birthdays and holidays, including the poems. He was also a passionate rooter for the New York Yankees in baseball and the New York Rangers in hockey. He and his wife were one of the pioneers in settling the section of Manhattan called Tribeca, purchasing a loft there. They later moved to another loft in midtown Manhattan and ultimately bought their own home in the Kingsbridge Heights section of The Bronx.

A graveside service for George will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Road, Elmont, NY 11003.
