Geri had an insatiable appetite for knowledge and for wisdom. To fulfill these desires, Geri read, traveled, listened, and then read some more. This motivation fueled her rise through the leadership ranks of many philanthropic organizations such as Jewish National Fund and Kol Emet Synagogue.
To Geri, no individual lacked perspective or insight. Her discussions would drift effortlessly from the economic conditions of Yerucham to the untold history of Moroccan cuisine. Geri did not set the topic and she used every interaction to distill facts and understand perspective. Completing the Saturday edition of the New York Times crossword puzzle was mere routine.
Geri is survived by her sister, Nicki (David), her three sons, Theodore, James (Elizabeth) and Rick and by Carol Weiss. She is pre-deceased by her parents Harry Weiss and Lyla Weiss. Geri is also survived by countless friends and relatives on every continent that have had the unique opportunity to engage in projects, discussions, crusades and so many other meaningful activities. It is impossible to encapsulate her memory for all of these individuals.
A burial ceremony for immediate family members will occur on April 7, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you may participate in her memorial services at a future date when the world is permitted to reconvene and properly celebrate Geri.
