Trudy died in Manhattan early in the morning of January 22, one day short of her 97th birthday. She is survived by her daughter Susie and granddaughter Sarah, and predeceased by her beloved husband Jordan and beloved daughter Deborah. She was born in Washington DC and came to New York City after World War II to obtain a Master’s degree at Barnard and to be with Jordan. She worked in various fields, including as an editor and a teacher at Park Slope’s wonderful PS 321, where she taught her young students all about Greek mythology. She was deeply committed to progressive politics; she loved poetry; she never made a grammatical error; and she was always passionate about life.
