

He leaves his beloved wife Frances and children, Mary Gattuso Melly (Michael), Meg Gattuso Wong (Bryan) and cherished grandchildren Oscar and Emilie. He was a much loved cousin, uncle, colleague and neighbor to many family and friends.
John's Catholic faith imbued his life and he was faithful communicant of St Frances Xavier Cabrini and Our Lady of the Valley.
Among John's many interests were reading, trains, music, wildlife. However history was his passion and allowed him to connect with warmth and deep interest in all he encountered. His heart was tied to Grey Woods, his cherished home in the Berkshires where many memories were made.
John will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by those who knew him.
A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 3 PM to 8 PM at Frank E. Campbell The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10028.
A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 10 AM at St John Nepomucene Church, 411 E 66th St, New York, NY 10065. A committal service will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 49-02 Laurel Hill Blvd, New York, NY 11377.
