Dear Laura,
There are no words for the joy and humanity you brought into our lives.  Your imagination, your empathy with all living things, your kindness, your openness to and acceptance of every human eccentricity, and your ability to find the joy and laughter and, yes even humor in everything you experienced from the happiest to most tragic moments in your life will remain with us forever.  I believe everyone who was lucky enough to come within your orbit will be grateful forever for that piece of good luck that let us know you.  You made and have left this world a better place.

Dear Laura, I am so proud to be your name sake. And growing up I was always referred to as little Laura, and you Big Laura! And only as an adult I fully realize what the "Big" stood for: Big heart, Big spirit, Big talent, Big strength, Big humanity! Laura, I always looked up to you, and I forever will, carrying sweet memories of your laugh, kindness, positive support, and incredible sense of humor! Brava Laura, Brava!

Remembering Laura on Memorial Day ... She always had a gracious smile for us at Choir, and her sense of humor made us laugh many times at practice ... I know that she is an angel in heaven now

Laura, you were a great friend and artist whose humanity was revealed in your beautiful sculptures some of which are now in famous museums.  Your sense of sense of humility and identification with the common person were inspiring.  You will be missed by us all.

Laura will be missed by her choir family.  So glad that we'll be singing to celebrate her life on June 7th!

We will miss Laura's lovely voice, not to mention her joyous presence. The choir is  dedicating the noon mass on June 7th at St. Monica's to her memory.

We have lost a great talent. I was most impressed with Laura's Virgin Mary sculpture. She gave us tips on book publishing. She was also involved in dance and, of course, St. Monica's choir. Enormously multi-talented. Laura will be missed.

Laura was a peaceful and serene soul we shall all miss. Her beautiful smile while singing along with the sopranos in our choir despite her physical challenges are an inspiration to us all. Keep singing Laura as you rest in peace!!

My first memories of Laura are from when I was six and she was eight.  I was entranced by my sassy cousin from New York with her long black braids.  We were pen pals for a while, then lost contact for nearly thirty years. 
 Once reconnected, we became good telephone friends, with only a few face-to-face visits.  She always had wonderful stories of her adventures.  I was delighted to finally persuade her to get on a plane to visit us in California, where she and Bill joined us in exploring the SF Bay Area and visiting our great-grandparents graves in Lodi.  Her last visit was three years ago when, in spite of her pain, she was game for any activity we suggested.
I loved the silly mysteries she and Bill published.  Laura had such a quirky sense of humor!  I will miss her laugh.
My thanks to all her friends for the support and love they have given her.

I miss our shopping trips to Albany and sharing the many good times we had. I will always remember you and Bill with fondest thoughts and prayers.
