

Myller, Lois –– Of Manhattan passed away on December 1 at Mt. Sinai hospital in Manhattan. She was 92. Born in Brooklyn to the Rev. Clifford Axel Westerdahl and Elsie Westerdahl, Lois had a joyful childhood with her best friend and brother, Clifford Arnold Westerdahl, and a happy marriage of 49 years to Rolf Myller, who died in 2006.
Lois, always happy and positive, loved language, and her quick wit and brilliant mind enabled her to have a long and successful career in book publishing.
She became one of the first female vice presidents at Simon & Schuster in New York, and worked at publishers including William Collins, Western, Dell, The Putnam Young Readers Group, and Rizzoli International. She was a consultant to Aperture Publishing, and served as licensing manager at the Museum of the City of New York.
Her children’s book, “No! No!,” was published in 1971.
She is survived by her daughters, Elyse Myller of Greenport, Long Island, and Corinne Myller Caramanico of Manhattan; and two grandsons, Marco and Luke Caramanico.
