
Lulu, a devoted nurse, cherished friend, and unwavering pillar of love, passed away in New York City.
Born in Villa, Iloilo City, Philippines, she was the youngest and only girl of three. Overcoming life’s hardships, Lulu pursued her calling in nursing with dedication and compassion. She earned her Diploma in Nursing from Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City, Philippines, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Central Philippine University, Iloilo City. Her lifelong commitment to caring for others led her to serve at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and Beth Israel Medical Center and Doctors Hospital in New York City. Through her work, she touched countless lives with her skill, kindness, and gentle spirit.
Lulu deeply cherished her family and friends. She loved traveling, dining out, and indulging in the luxuries of life. Her warmth and generosity made everyone around her feel welcome and loved.
To Robert, her beloved “palangga,” Lulu was a second mother, and he was the love and pride of her life. Their bond was one of deep affection, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Lulu is survived by her dear friend Ophelia Torres; her son, Robert; her nieces Helen Ongo-Chui, Henrietta Ongo, Nanette Castante, Maripet Uy, and their families. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
