Malcolm Chaifetz, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on March 11th, at the age of 86. He is predeceased by his wife, Marilyn and daughter, Jill. Malcolm left us peacefully while holding the hands of his treasured son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence Chaifetz and Renee Wimpfheimer Chaifetz. Malcom was born in New York City in 1931 to Al and Rose Chaifetz. He and his siblings were raised in Mount Vernon, NY. Malcolm attended NYU, where he received both his undergraduate degree and his JD. Malcolm went on to work for his wife, Marilyn’s, uncle, as a partner in his law practice. Malcolm was a young and ambitious attorney, whose son, Lawrence and daughter, Jill, both looked up to. They followed in his footsteps, becoming lawyers themselves. Malcolm and his son became partners in Chaifetz and Chaifetz in 1986. The two worked side by side for 32 years.
Malcolm loved traveling the world with his family and friends. His passion for jazz and the theater never faded as his grew older. Malcolm’s upbeat spirit was felt by everyone around him. His friends and family can agree that his age of 86 years old was never representative of Malcolm’s humor, whit and vibrancy. He is survived, and will be deeply missed by his son, Lawrence, daughter-in-law, Renee, grandchildren, Sasha, Arielle, Milo, Isaac and Leila; son-in-law, Daniel, and sister Judith.
