Nancy Bostick Parks, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on April 25, 1934, in Quincy, Florida, Nancy lived a life defined by grace, generosity, curiosity, and quiet strength.
Nancy was an alumna of Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where she nurtured her love of learning, culture, and community. She married the love of her life, The Rev. Dr. Robert Ray Parks, on April 20, 1955. Their marriage was one of deep devotion and shared purpose. Bob went on to serve as the 15th Rector of Trinity Church Wall Street in New York City, and Nancy became a beloved and steady presence within the church community —offering warmth, hospitality, and compassionate support to all. She was the driving force behind the formation of the Trinity Family Choir and became a founding member. And she was a dedicated philanthropist supporting organizations that better mankind and the world.
Nancy was the devoted mother of two sons:
• Benjamin (Ben) Parks (born 1956, † 2021), husband of Wendy Lovejoy, and
• John Parks (born 1959), husband of Nick Oddo.
She embraced Wendy and Nick as family, extending to them the same kindness, steadiness, and unconditional love she offered her sons.
A woman of quiet passions, Nancy found joy in many simple and meaningful pursuits. She was an avid reader, a lifelong source of inspiration and reflection. She was also a remarkably gifted needlepoint artist, creating intricate works that will remain treasured heirlooms. Nancy adored nature and spent many happy hours on Florida beaches collecting shark teeth and seashells, tiny treasures that delighted her throughout her life.
She also loved flowers, especially Lily of the Valley — a flower that symbolized purity and devotion. Bob made sure they were woven into her wedding bouquet, a gesture he knew would delight her and one she cherished forever.
Nancy is survived by her son John, her son-in-law Nick Oddo, her daughter-in-law Wendy Lovejoy, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, The Rev. Dr. Robert Ray Parks, her son Ben, and her sister Mary Stuart Bostick Auman.
In keeping with her lifelong commitment to service and scientific progress, Nancy was a proud supporter of Hope Funds for Cancer Research, an organization dedicated to advancing innovative cancer science and improving outcomes for future generations.
She will be remembered for her elegance, gentle humor, southern warmth, and the calm, grounding presence she brought into every room. Nancy lived with dignity, kindness, and a depth of faith that shaped the world around her.
A funeral and burial service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held at Trinity Church in New York City in Spring 2026.
Nancy Parks leaves behind a legacy of love, artistry, faith, and generosity—one that continues to live on in the many lives she touched and in the family who adored her.
