
Norden Hahn, 95, of New York, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday October 13th, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 17th, 2025, at Temple Emanu-El, 5th Ave at 65th street. Interment will follow at Beth El Cemetery.
A lifelong New York City resident, Norden was born to Arthur & Florence Hahn on March 5th,1930 in Manhattan. Norden attended the University of Bridgeport and later began his career in textiles at Carltex Corporation. In 1962 he met the love of his life Phyllis Romm, an Assistant Fashion Director at Vogue Pattern Services. Norden and Phyllis were married November 25th, 1962 and were married for 63 years. Norden was an entrepreneur who had a long career in both the textiles and garment industries. His hobbies were cooking, eating a wide variety of adventurous ethnic foods and the New York Rangers. He was also a proud and active member of Temple Emanu-El for fifty years. Norden travelled the world in pursuit of his business interests and immersed himself in all of the cultures, and particularly, local cuisine. He was always willing to try the most exotic foods his local hosts had to offer. Norden was a diehard New York Ranger fan and season ticket holder since 1967. The Rangers celebrated Norden on March 5th, 2025, on his 95th birthday, as the Season Subscriber of the Game. He was a devoted grandfather who ardently supported his grandchildren’s athletic endeavors. As an avid hockey fan, he naturally gravitated to the various local hockey rinks to root for his grandchildren. When their exploits went national, Norden travelled far and wide to be supportive. He was always one of the players and team parents favorites. Norden is survived by his wife Phyllis Hahn. He is also survived by his son Arthur & Leslie Hahn of Monmouth Beach, NJ; his daughter Deborah and Peter Frankel of Chappaqua, NY; his son Geoffrey Hahn of St Petersburg, Fl; his daughter Jennifer & Jeff Fink of Chappaqua, NY. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Jesse Hahn, Sam & Erica Hahn, Jake Frankel, Aerin Frankel, Ella Fink, Adam Fink. Norden was predeceased by his parents Arthur & Florence Hahn; his beloved twin sister Jean Cohen and sister Sylvia Hirschfeld.
