Patrick was predeceased by Patrick Francis Maloney II, Catherine Maloney nee O’Connor, David Sweeney, Doris Maloney nee Price.
Paddy, as he was known to friends and family was born on October 18, 1951 to parents Patrick and Catherine Maloney. Paddy was born and raised in Yorkville where he resided his entire life. As the oldest of 9 children in a home without much money, Paddy developed a strong-willed determination and an exemplary work ethic that he would carry with him his entire life. Paddy was introduced to boxing at age 16 by his friend and mentor Danny McAloon. He had a successful amateur and pro career, where he was known for his toughness and heart both in and out of the ring. Paddy worked as a proud Local 1 Elevator Constructor for over 30 years. As a proud union member, he enjoyed a hard day’s work while having a few laughs with the many friends he made during his career. Paddy married Doris Price and had three children. Paddy’s greatest love was his family. He cared deeply for his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. As a young father, Paddy was rarely seen in the neighborhood without his three sons, Patrick (IV), Kevin and Jason in tow. Later in life, Paddy was known as PopPop to his grandchildren Patrick(V), Kaleigh, Kate, Aidan, and Gia. Every week without fail Paddy traveled to the Bronx to pick up all his grandkids and take them to the park. Paddy was a protective older brother, an amazing father, loving grandfather and loyal friend. He will be missed by all.
Patrick is survived by his children Patrick (IV)and his wife Jennifer, Kevin and his wife Bernice, and Jason. His grandchildren Patrick(V), Kaleigh, Kate, Aidan, and Gia. His siblings Deborah, Lorraine, Eileen, Kenny, Tommy, David, Rich, and Brian.
