Robert R.Corsi, age 77, passed away peacefully on March 7 from complications following a recent fall in his apartment. Bob was born in NYC and spent his entire life living and working in mid-town Manhattan. He attended St. John Evangelist and the H.S. of Aviation Trade. Bob was a waiter and bartender at some of NYC's finest establishments such as Reubens, Ginos and "The Rose" in the CBS building before retiring a decade ago. He was a thorough professional who brought humor and a sympathetic ear to all of the patrons who were fortunate enough to have been waited upon by him. Bob was a person who looked for and usually found humor in most of life's situations and challenges. His interests included sports, traveling, antique toy banks, golf and the "occasional cocktail" while listening to Sinatra. He was pre-deceased ( Feb. 12) by Anne, his wife of 56 years, who was the love of his life and whom he had known since they were teenagers. Bob was also pre-deceased earlier this year by his sister Elizabeth (Betty). His last surviving blood relative is his dear cousin, Jackie, who's dad, John, was a kind, generous person with integrity rarely seen these days. "Uncle Bob", one of "the relatives", will be sadly missed by all of his nieces (4) and nephews (4) whom he could not have treated better had they been his own children. He and "Peanuts" ( Anne's nickname) never missed a family function or event and their presence was always anticipated and cherished. Wake to be held on Friday, March 14, at Andrett Funeral Home, 353 2nd Ave @ 21st St., NY, NY 10010. Hrs. 3 - 6PM. Service at Church of the Epiphany on 21st St. between 2nd & 3rd Avenues on Saturday, March 15, at 10AM. Burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, NY (49-01 Laurel Hill Blvd., Woodside.) Donations in Bob's memory may be made to Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home, 1339 York Avenue, NY, NY 10021
