With heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Berlan. May you find comfort in God's Word and in knowing that others feel your sadness as well.  Death and the loss of a dear loved one are the hardest things that we will probably ever have to cope with in this life.  But the Bible offers hope!  Pointing to a glorious time just ahead, Isaiah 25:8 (and Revelation 21:3,4) says "God will actually swallow up death forever and Jehovah God will certainly wipe the tears from all faces.  Please also read John 5:28,29.  These wonderful verses have helped many bereaved ones, including myself. I hope you will find the same comfort.  Once again, my deepest and sincerest condolences.

I met Sharon years ago at a Chordoma conference when I was first diagnosed. ( I'm a 9-year survivor-thriver.) I remember how much hope it brought me to meet her- here was this vibrant, active, extraordinary  woman, more than 20+ years out from a diagnosis, living a full, creative  life and contributing to SO many others. if she could do it- so could I! I'm so grateful to have met her.

We were distant cousins who met late in life and enjoyed breakfast or lunch on my occasional visits to NYC, which I will miss.

I’m so sorry for your loss.  I am a high school friend of Sharon and I have very fond memories of our time in high school.  I am amazed at her strength, courage and commitment to trying to find a cure for her cancer and help others.  I do remember how she loved her birds and now she can be free.

Sharon was a great woman who I met during the  Bloomingdales years.  She was always completely supportive and was always fun to be around.  Our paths crossed during the years as we both stayed in the footwear industry for quite sometime.  Sending heartfelt condolences and lots of love. (Having difficulty getting on the livestream)

Oh Sharon, you will be missed.  Every time I would take a photo with Sharon, she would tickle me a little, so that our smiles would be genuine.  It really wasn't necessary - you couldn't help but smile when you spent time with her.

Rob, I cannot begin to say how saddened we all are of Sharon’s passing. As you know I go way back with Sharon when she worked at Macys. We both started our careers at Bloomingdale’s but we did not know of one another but all knew the same people. She became a very good friend  to both myself and my wife Adriana. A few years ago we found out that we were 4th cousins. Still trying to figure out the relationship to this day. My favorite moment with sharon was sneaking up on her in Florence when she was in the square where the David is housed. She did not know I was there and it scared her immensely but then we all had a good laugh. She will be so missed by so many.

We are so sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing as a fellow Chordoma care giver she was so instrumental in trying to help so many people. Her artwork was amazing she was so sweet everyone in this group meant so much to her! She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness! Prayers for all who knew her and will miss her dearly.

Sharon was a one-of-a-kind person. We met through her work with the Chordoma Foundation community, but became great friends during our adventures across the city. Every single one of them is a fond memory. We were all so lucky to know her. Sharon, you are greatly missed.

I will be keeping everyone  in my thoughts & prayers as I cherish the good times & laughs shared with Sharon.  While she eventually became my boss, we started as colleagues & became great friends & someone I admired & respected. She taught me much about footwear & that passion never died. She loved her family, friends, traveling, hiking, bird watching, painting & of course, like me her passion for food...lol

Traveling in the Bloomingdales days was always so much fun with Sharon.

Some cherished Bloomingdale’s days and memories. Sharon was loved by so many.

Sharon was a strong advocate for Chordoma patients and their families. She was the first person to reach out to so many  of the Chordoma community, providing a life line of hope and action for us. She taught me so much about how to live within Chordoma when our son was diagnosed.  This picture of us was my last personal time with dear Sharon. She was an icon in our Chordoma community. I am so sorry for your loss.

It was probably 25 years ago that Rob introduced me to Sharon - lots of memories.
I'll always remember Sharon describing how at age 10 she would bang on the piano and sing, with lots of gusto, "My Way."  That was Sharon!!  She did it all her way, as much as she could!!  And with lots of chutzpah, generosity, and dedication.  

She also once told me about visiting a past life specialist who told her that families travel through lives together (even if their roles are shuffled around in the next life).  If that's so, then I wish you well on the journey, Sharon, until we meet again!!!
