Two years have passed today Walter and still we grieve your passing...What words of comfort can we offer to ourselves and to those that grieve along with us...I can find none today...But, to you Walter I say may gods blessings be upon you...

Death will come;
we cannot enter in judgment with it.
Our question Why?  will always go unanswered.
But this does not mean that we are helpless in the face of death.
We can  and we do 
rob death of ultimate victory
By living our lives,
So that when death comes
It takes us from a world
One corner of which is a little better 
Because we were there.

It was with a sad heart that we read the news about Walter. We always remember him fondly and how kind he was to our family as we moved into 4 King Court. He had a love for the house and grounds and we continued that love as we made it a home for our three children. I will always remember the day we closed on the house -- Walter bought pizza for our children. Such a sweet man! We are very sorry for your loss of your dear friend. We wish you all the best. So many months and still we grieve deeply for you...sometimes we look for you to walk through the front door...you will be missed forever.

I was so sad to learn the news of the passing away of my dear friend Walter. We knew each other since childhood. Last time we met was in 1968 when I visited the US. I stayed with him for about 10 days. I called him a few days before his passing, but he couldn't talk. Please accept my sincere condolences, dear Phyllis. May your courage and strength bring you comfort.

Godspeed dear friend...there is still more work to be done...

Jeff and I were so sorry to hear of Walter's passing, Phyllis. I can still see Walt's face in front of me. What a sweet man he was. I'm sure the memories will help ease the loss.

I just received the letter and notice of "Bennie's" passing. Although I had not been in touch for many years, I thought about him often and always felt that we had a special bond. He was so wise in many ways. I am truly sorry for this loss. God rest his soul...

Phyllis, even in your sorrow I hope you can hold onto the thought that a life lived with so much love never really ends, but goes on forever for those who remember. Walter was always such a nice man! You have my deepest sympathy.

I did not know Walt in a personal way as I was a flight crew member flying freight in and out of Zantop's Newark station. What you noticed was the deep respect the people directly under his supervision had for him and not just the Newark station but also the other stations up and down the east coast. Even though we only passed each other, he always had a smile on his face. I know that wherever he is now and whoever he is with they are benefiting from his presence. A pleasure to have known you Walt Godspeed into the unknown.

I was so sorry to hear of Walter's passing and that he suffered so in the end. He was a gentleman and I will continue to fondly remember our various house hunting trips. Towards the end, I kind of knew he wasn't going to purchase, but I actually enjoyed your and Walter's company, Phyllis. I know you and Walter were great friends and his passing has to have hit you hard.

So very sorry to read in the newspaper that Walter passed away. I remember him with such fondness. He was the best neighbor anyone could hope for. I really enjoyed our many conversations about landscaping and home maintenance. He was a kind, soft spoken, intelligent man. I will never forget him and will always keep him in my prayers. I have sent you a Mass card. Phyllis, I am so very sorry for your loss. With my deepest sympathy.

My condolences go out to Walter Benjamin's family, brothers, sister, nephews, nieces and dearest Phyllis. I first met Walter when I was 16 years old. We worked together at Zantop where Walter was not just a friend but a mentor to me. He taught me so many things about life, incredibly valuable lessons that I continue to treasure. Walter was a very dear friend to me and so influential. I am deeply saddened by the loss of a great man, who always stood tall in the shadow of humanity. I hope his family knows how many people including myself Walter has impacted. We have lost a great man, and although he is no longer with us, his influence will continue to live on in all of us. LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS FOR GOOD MEN; FOR THOSE WHO ARE MERCIFUL, KIND, AND JUST!!!

Walt Hired me in 1976 to work for Zantop in EWR, helping me for the next 17 years with patience and kindness  and I am forever in his debt.  He took a kid 2 weeks out of High School and gave him an entire Career in Air Freight.  Farewell and rest in peace Walt.

Phyllis, As the days pass the depth of our loss is further realized. Our hearts sink knowing how devastated you are feeling, my dear sister. We hope you will draw on the strength and love from the many people who care about you and Walter. May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared comfort you now and in the days ahead.

Phyllis and the Benjamin Family, our prayers are thoughts are with you during this time and always - Walter was a wonderful, kind man who had such a sense of humor and would put you at ease.  My family is terribly saddened and our hearts go out to his family and to his beloved Phyllis who loved him truly.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Walter's passing.   Flying to Newark and working with Walt was always a joy and his work ethic was admired by all.   We had lots of laughs for many years and he will be missed by many.

We are deeply sorry about the death of Walter, Phyllis. We all shared some great times together and think about the many gifts he brought into our lives. We send you thoughts of courage, peace and love. Forever in our hearts.

God bless you Phyllis for all you have endured. Your love for Walter gave him a gift he never had. That you remained by his side through it all is born of grace. What I'm feeling right now is hard to put into words, Phyllis. It's always difficult to lose someone you love, especially someone as close to us and wonderful as Walter. He was first your treasure and when you brought him to meet us he became our treasure as well. Take solace in the many years you had together; we are trying to do so as well. Your entire family is there for you as you traverse the difficult stages of grief. We are all mourning the loss of Walter along with you and love you very much. Rest in peace our dear Walter.

Very sad to hear of Walter's passing. He was a dear friend to my dad and our family really loved and respected him. So sorry for your loss, may God rest his soul.
