

On Friday, June 5, 2020, the world lost a great man. Abel Uballe Sr. passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by loved ones. Abel was born February 18, 1938 in San Benito, Texas to Miguel and Augrelia Uballe. He married the love of his life, Eva Longoria on May 5, 1957.
Abel served in the Texas Army National Guard, Company B, 112th Armored Calvary Regiment as a Heavy Weapons Infantryman. He was a Marksman and received an honorable discharge in May 1958.
Abel started his professional career working in the farming industry where due to his amazing work ethic, he quickly moved up the ranks to Forman. After moving to California in 1962, Abel began working in building construction where he became a Construction Superintendent until his retirement in 1990. He came out of retirement in 1994 and worked for the Honot Foundation until retiring permanently in 2003.
As an avid outdoorsman, Abel loved hunting, camping and fishing. He made it a point to go on annual dove hunts with his son Abel Jr. and daughter Diane, whenever possible. He was a lifelong sports fan and loved coaching Pop Warner football. In his later years, he especially enjoyed watching his San Francisco Giants with his beautiful bride Eva by his side. Together they rarely missed a game.
His favorite hobbies were working in his garden and building birdhouses for family members.
Abel was preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Augrelia Uballe, his brothers David Uballe, Robert Uballe and Mike Uballe.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 63 years Eva Longoria Uballe, his son; Abel Uballe Jr. (Jan), daughters; Diane Uballe Long (Rick), and Anna Uballe, 6 grandchildren; Jaemie Colley, Jessica Maysee, Michael Mazzariello, Robert Castillo, Joanna Castillo, Bailey Ogle, 7 great-grandchildren and siblings Sophia Neely, Leele Sandoval, Ester Perez, and Becky Uballe. As well as many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
