Anna Torres

A visitation for Anna will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, 23287 North Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Anna Torres was born in El Paso, Texas to Isabel Dueñez on December 28, 1940. She went to Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles. While at Roosevelt, she met and married her sweetheart, Joe Torres Jr on May 21, 1960. Anna attended East Los Angeles College where she received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. She was also part of the women’s football team. She went on to work as an educator at Malabar Elementary School in Boyle Heights. She taught many students throughout her years there. Later she became the director of Salvation Army DayCare Center in Downtown Los Angeles where she remained for several years until her retirement. Anna was also an active member of Good Shepherd Family Bible Church for over 50 years.

Anna Torres is preceded in death by her husband Joe Torres Jr, her mother Isabel Dueñez and her beloved sisters, Ofelia LaForm and Yolanda Porras.

Anna Torres is survived by her 5 children JoAnn Montez, Joe Torres III, Yvonne Thomas, Janette Torres, Jillian Simonett, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
