He was born on October 5th 1957 in Manila Philippines to his surviving mother Celina Portoghese and his late father Billy C Driver. He is survived by his spouse of 35 years Pam Driver and stepson Bill Bierbaum, Stepfather Chuck and spouse Heidi Portoghese He is also survived by his 5 brothers and sisters their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews, His mother in law, father in law, and sister in law.
Billy was the first born of six children, in his youth he loved to play baseball was in the Boy Scouts and volunteered at the church. Billy was responsible never in trouble and always trying to do whatever he could to help his mom, he grew up in the San Fernando Valley and graduated in 1974 from Birmingham high. He loved old cars and restored a 1967 lowered impala with white diamond tucked interior (his favorite car). After high school Billy’s stepdad Chuck got him a job Learning to do electrical work where years later he would walk in the union hall took their test and passed. This was an extremely difficult test to pass and only a handful of people were able to do this. Billy also did some movie work westerns with Jack Lilley and ranch work for several different cattle ranches. Billy loved training dogs and took first place at the national championships with his dog Kelly. Ranch work was his true passion hunting, and training horses so many stories, experiences and memories.
On March 30 2002 Billy was involved in a horrible car accident were he almost died. he suffered major head trauma leaving him unable to walk or talk and dependent on someone for his everyday care when leaving the hospital the Doctors said people in his condition only live 4 or 5 years at the very most Billy lived 18 years he was truly one of a kind his strength was amazing, he definitely was not a quitter he never gave up on anything he did, he was a perfectionist no matter what he was doing he was honest and always willing and there to help a friend or family in anyway he could.
He was well liked by many people.
He will be missed and remembered by many friends and family.
