My halmeoni, I still can’t believe you are no longer here with us. The only time I am not hurting is when I stop thinking of you. Time does not heal, you just learn to live with it. I can still hear you and feel you here where you lived the past 12 years. I am forever thankful I get to live where you looked after us, cooked for us, nurtured for us… thank you for being the best halmeoni in the world. Halmi I stopped smelling your jacket in fear of forgetting what you smell like. I will forever remember your signature diamond perfume, all your black clothes, tattooed eyeliner, and your delicious cooking. Growing up and seeing you at church every sunday was admiring, so many people looked up to you and loved you. They even held celebrations for you. It makes me feel so proud to be your granddaughter. You are an all around kind and genuine being and people noticed that always. Thank you for being a comfort to me in my life growing up. Anywhere you were at I felt at peace. My beautiful angel, I can’t wait to see you again halmi. I love and miss you so much.

My grandma  was always a really good chef and my favorite thing she made was a rice cake soup on New Years. I also remember when I was little she used to do my makeup and it was always a lot of fun. My grandma helped spark my passion for culinary as well as cosmetics.

I am so sorry that I only remembered what I did wrong. I can still hear our Judy! Our Judy! you are calling me and it's like you are still by next to me….
When we were sad, when we were happy, I held hands with you, mother! Remember the times we held hands and walked together... Thank you so much and miss you so much.. I love you mom.

I remember she always calls my name. I remember her old house being at bakersfield, spending time with her and grandpa. They always love to see me dance and goof around. They love to see my fabulous skills. She also gives me money which I really appreciate. I find it a beautiful thing to see that they're happy to see me and my bro Daniel. I love to see grandpa and grandma keeping them updated and I know grandpa and grandma is always there for me. Life would be different if I didn't have grandma in my life. I wish she has a good life in heaven! Love you 할머니 and I am gonna miss you so much!!!

I hope you are watching me and my family from up in Heaven.           I miss you every day…... Things are not the same without you!            I miss you in every moment, no one can take your place mom!     
You were a wonderful wife to my father, a caring mother to me and the greatest grandma of all time to our children.            
Don’t worry about Dad, we will take care of him and mom, please watch over him.  Again, we all love you and miss you so much!     You were also remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for a family and friends, most especially over the holidays, miss your food so much….

There aren’t enough words to describe how many lives you’ve brightened and how many hearts you’ve touched 할머니, including mine. Thank you for always being my rock and my support, when I was bickering with my family or when things were going downhill, I always knew when you called that you were there for me. I remember you would always try to sneak me little bills, and one day when asked where you got the money, you replied that it came from saving whatever you got, little by little, thinking of me. I didn’t understand the weight of that moment until now. I also remember staying over at your place when me and Abe were younger, watching the korean shows you had on the tv and eating the amazing food you cooked. I will always be forever grateful for everything you’ve done for me and I just wish I had the chance to repay you in some way. But, I know the way to make you the happiest and proudest up there watching, is by living to the fullest, and sharing the warmth and kindness you spread to us, 사랑해요 할머니

Thank you for your 10 yrs of the early morning prayer for me when my family was suffering in many ways. I am so grateful that I had a mom like you. I still can't believe you are not here with us. But I know you're with Jesus at this moment and we all will meet again. 
Do not worry about dad, we will take good care of him. Again, thank you for all your love and I love you so much.  

할머니, I loved it when you would come stay at our house when I was younger. You always brought such a calming, peaceful presence. When I would come back home from school, you always prepared my favorite foods to eat and made sure that I was never hungry. I remember very clearly when you would drive me in your white BMW to pick up VHS rentals from the Korean video store–you always loved your Korean dramas. I loved it when you would bring me gifts from the 99 cents store and it would always make me so happy. I wish I was better at speaking Korean so I could have more conversations with you, but I am still very thankful for our moments together. You have been such an inspiration to our family. I cannot express in words how grateful I am for all the sacrifices you made for our family–I promise to never take this for granted. I will miss you so much and am so excited to see you again in Heaven. May you rest in our Heavenly Father's presence. I love you so much!

You are one of the most considerate people I know. Some of my most fond memories with you involved the way you constantly tried to help me with whatever had been going through. I think I was a pretty annoying kid and I'm so blessed that I had a grandmother who could bare with my behavior and see the good in me. You were an amazing grandma and I will continue to make you proud. I love you!

Thank you Halmoni for everything you did for us. I remember all the times you and harbi would come over when we were little. I remember when I was little and you would sleep in my room on the pullout bed. I'm going to miss those times we spent with you, and only regret that I didn't do more for you. You were always trying to help out around the house, saying that you needed to help Leslie. Even when standing up for too long made your legs swell, I would turn the corner into the kitchen and there you were washing dishes again; despite my dad having told you not to. Im glad we got to spend these last few months living together. 

Despite the great distance, I was able to get to know and appreciate you during our visits to the US or on our many trips through Switzerland and Europe. I fondly remember the many experiences and miss your humble and friendly nature. Mom, you were a great woman.

You always made me and my brother happy and were always in a good mood. I remember all those times you made me laugh trying to read german. I will never forget that. You also cooked amazingly. Your mandu was one of the best things I have ever eaten. I will never forget your love and hugs you gave us. Im really looking forward to seeing you soon. 

I count it a great blessing that we were able to welcome Harmi and Harbi into our home. They arrived soon after Suki had her little puppies and Harmi used to love holding them. She would sit in one of our reclining chairs with one or two of the puppies on her lap, gently stroking them. She wasn't supposed to eat too many sweets but her face would light up, like a child's, when we gave her ice cream. In her youth she had been a strong, fierce woman. But in her old age she was gentle like a kitten. Love you and miss you, mom. -leslie

I loved going everywhere with you two. I’m so grateful I made these memories with you.

Something I admire about my halmeoni was that she was always so kind. She would always try to help someone any way that she could. She was someone that listened when you needed someone to talk to. She always told me how thankful she was for me. She would tell me “Brittany, you don’t have to help halmeoni and hal-abeoji so much. We know you’re busy.” I would simply say back “You helped raise me, it’s my turn to help take care of you.” Thank you halmeoni for being the person that you are. I love you.

We were so saddened of your mum's passing. We have spent time with your mum when she was here visiting in Lucerne, Switzerland. Jaime and Elina  were often together playing as babies (then toddlers and then children) when your parents were here.
We will remember the time when your mum cooked korean food....Jaime (they were maybe 4yrs old) wasnt so sure about all the special ingredients and Elina was daring to try everything and how she LOVED it!!!!! How happy that made your mum to see a little swiss girl loving your mum's korean food!!!

Joon, I remember when your mom laughed at me because I was eating her homemade food so vigorously! She was laughing and speaking in Korean then I said what did she say? She said that I was showing my love by eating all the food!! She was a great lady. ❤️

I miss you mom! Can’t believe you’re no longer here.   We just helped you move in with us in July…was looking forward to spending many years together…with laughter…watching Korean dramas…action flicks…and taking you out to all your favorite restaurants.  I loved watching you and dad eat…especially when I cooked something for you and you’d say “this is so good Tony”.

I miss hearing your voice…especially when I come home from work…”Tony ya….you’re home from work? Did you eat dinner?” You always asked me if I ate…such a typical Korean mother….and I truly miss hearing that these days.

I will treasure all those time when we travelled together…to Hawaii, Europe, Florida, Mammoth….you and dad loved to just go to places…didn’t matter where.  I think the last trip you and I did was to Vegas. You always get so excited playing video machines…especially when it makes all kinds of noises and you win $300 worth of nickels! 

You’ve been a great mom to all of us. Taught us to work hard…to food on our table and roof over our heads.  You would make us work from 5 am to 6 pm during the summer breaks…and that has taught me to work hard…until the job is done.

You’ve taught us the love of God. Took us to the church every Sunday no matter what .  You also taught us to serve…in church choir, student ministry, and music ministry…. And always give thanks to the Father in Heaven…and give back with graceful heart. 

There’s so much more I’ve learned from you….to be humble…to care for others…to love your spouse sacrificially…you lived your life the way the Christ taught us to live.

We will see you soon…. We know our days here on earth is temporary… looking forward to seeing you again in heaven! Love you mom!!!! I always will…..

I miss being around I miss your love your hugs and everything about you. I wish I could be with you and talk with you again.

My Favorite Memory was doing makeup with Halmoni, Me and my Brother would (when we were younger)  do Makeup with Halmoni it was alot of fun like doing my nails putting lotion on our faces and lots of other things

As I look at these pictures they are tears of happy moments we shared with Gma. I didn’t know it but you were the best grandma I could ask for. You were there in the good and the bad….you were a best friend when I needed you to be.

Best time of the year was when you could visit us in Switzerland.   

I loved the bond and the love you shared with Jaime and Justin.  Always warmed my heart to see you smile and laugh together.  

엄마,  seems like yesterday we went on this hike together.  I will never forget this beautiful day I got to spend with you.  I love you so much.  I can’t wait to see you again.

Mom...I miss you.  Can't believe you're no longer here with us. It feels like a dream that I will wake up and you will be here again.  But I know this is not a dream...that you are in heaven with Jesus...in your new body...with no pain...no more suffering.  I could still see your smiles, hear your laughter, and hear you say "Tony ya...you're home from work.  Did you eat dinner?"...a phrase I heard daily and I so miss hearing that now when I get home.  

I was so looking forward to you and dad living with us for many years to come.  I miss cooking and watching you and dad eat together.  It brought me so much joy whenever you said..."this is so good!".   

Thank you for all your sacrifices for us.  I will continue your legacy by living rest of my life by loving and serving the Lord as you have...and caring for those around me.  I was blessed to have you as my mom...will always remember you.  See you very soon...
