During her 20 years as an army wife, Carolyne and Myles Mierswa, Sr., traveled from base to base all over the US, Japan and Germany with their children. She reinvented herself in the early ‘70s and received her BA and MS Degrees in Psychology/Sociology. She became a marriage counselor for Catholic Social Services, eventually moving on to create her own practice “West Orlando Counseling” and was an adjunct professor at Valencia Community College. She met Richard Miller in 1986 who “taught her how to love again”. After his passing, she moved to The Cloisters to retire. She met Don Napier, who “had a beautiful head of white hair”. They married on a mountain in Tennessee. Over the next twenty years, they traveled, played bridge, golfed and shopped at Costco. Their adventures of flying, driving, white water rafting and cruising included California, Hawaii, Bali, Singapore, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, Pike’s Peak, the eastern seaboard and all points in between. Moving to California was her last adventure ~ Bible Study, Bridge, community parties, church activities and still shopping at Costco.
A memorial gathering in California and Florida will be arranged at a future date.
