Claire Louise Bosh, 84 years of age, resident of Acton, California died on December 27th, 2011 in her home of a brain hemorrhage. She was born on October 11, 1927 in the town of Attleboro, Mass. to John Francis Ryan and Clara Bridget McNally. She was the youngest daughter with 6 siblings, Mildred Littleton, Mary Chapin, Katherine Baril, Helen Clinton, William Littleton and Robert Littleton.
Mom and Dad arrived in California on April 9, 1953 with their 3 children. Their first home was in Redondo Beach, where the family enjoyed the beach and water as much as she did. Her last employment was as a Realtor/agent with ”Johnny 7 Reality” in the San Fernando Valley. Even in retirement mom volunteered whenever she could; driving seniors to their appointments or shopping in Cape Code, planning events in Florida, and working as an Usher and Hostess for the Palmdale Theatre. She worked the voting poles 3 years ago but decided that was too long a day to volunteer again. She retired at the young age of 57 with her husband, Manny. Enjoying over 26 years of retirement was a blessing. They retired to Cape Cod in the town of Pocasset for 7 years, where she enjoyed the beach, swimming and clamming. Family and friends lived close by and they often entertained a friendly game of cards on Friday nights. Then they moved down to Palm Bay, Florida, to avoid the cold winter season, for another 8 years, where she enjoyed the beach, swimming and the good friends she met while living in a Senior community. They made many friends and were always surrounded by close family everywhere they lived. They traveled by auto to California each year for the holiday season, residing in Acton, Calif., where they stayed with their son Buddy, who had set up their own residence on his 5 acres to be closer to friends and family. There she enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed the peacefulness of the area and her neighbor friends. She loved walking, and often persuaded her neighbor, Maria, to join her in some exercise.
Mom was an active member of the Palmdale Senior Center, making many friends, and participating in paint classes and computer classes in the last 10 years. She took many small trips to points of interest in Southern California with her Senior Group, always enjoying the camaraderie of friends and the beauty that California has to offer. Her first love was dad, her husband of 61 years. Her second love was painting, which she ventured in oils, watercolor and acrylic. Her third love was music, dancing and theatre; she enjoyed the arts in all their forms. She was a volunteer for the Palmdale Playhouse, a member of the Senior Tap Dancers of Palm Bay Florida, and enjoyed live theatre.
She loved to travel and took many trips across our continental U.S. with Dad. In 2000 my mom, my daughter, Kim, my Daughter-in-law, Vita, and I took a Trip to Ireland. Mom always wished to visit the home of her ancestors. We had 10 wonderful and fun days on the emerald isle. We stayed in Bed and Breakfasts and visited all the sites we could fit in from Galway to Dublin. It was truly a trip to remember.
My mom loved to cook and entertain for our family and friends. All were greeted with open arms and she always made you feel welcome. She baked a lot because dad loved sweets, and they shared in the making of cookies, fudge and candies.
She is survived by her Husband, Manuel Bosh, 3 children; Linda Watkins, Jon and Peggy Bosh (wife), and Buddy Bosh and Jane Dadulak (girlfriend), 4 grandchildren; William Watkins and Charity Watkins (wife), Kimberly Watkins, Bryan Watkins, and Ashlee Bosh Phillips, and 7 grandchildren; Kendra Mejia, Michael Mejia, Blayn Watkins, Tia Watkins, Aftyn Watkins, Brayden Watkins, and Troy Watkins. She also leaves behind her beloved pet, Paris, a Maltese given to her by her Grandson, Bryan. Paris is in Dad’s lap at every chance she gets. Mom will be dearly missed by all her family and friends, there will always be a huge void in our lives and hearts as the days go on.
Arrangements under the direction of Eternal Valley Memorial Park Mortuary, Newhall, CA.
