
Franklin Millado Abdon, 60, of Victorville, California, passed away on May 28th, 2025 at the Yosemite National Park. He spent his last days doing what he loved—exploring serene forests and seeing the world from grand mountain tops.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm at Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary (23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321).
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Eternal Valley Memorial Park & Mortuary (23287 Sierra Hwy, Newhall, CA 91321).
Franklin was born in Iba, Zambales to Teofila Millado Abdon and Eliseo Villarin Abdon on September 21, 1964. He earned a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Adamson University in 1982. For over 35 years around the world, he was a leader in the engineering & construction industry. Through his projects, he explored the Philippines, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia, as well as Minnesota, Washington, New York, Virginia, and California in the United States. He was involved in the American Society of Civil Engineers American Concrete Institute and was awarded Quality Control Manager of the Year from Quality Engineering, Inc. in 2019.
Franklin brightened the room with his easy kindness and unforgettable jokes. He gathered loved ones around delicious steaks, and told hilarious stories about his wild outdoor adventures, and the simple everyday life. He was a beloved father, brother, and friend—and a passionate steward of nature. Throughout his 20 years of experience, he backpacked across the most beautiful places of the United States. He cherished starry nights with a cold beer or with the company of loving family and friends.
Franklin is preceded in death by his mother, Teofila Millado Abdon, and father, Eliseo Villarin Abdon. Frank is survived by his children, Michelle and Michael Abdon, siblings, Maria Theresa Abdon Manalad, Corazon Nerissa Abdon, and Melinda Abdon-Borg, and his niece and nephews.
The family of Franklin extends our sincere thanks to the Yosemite National Park Service for their work and support. Franklin brought loved ones together with his kindness, humor, and sense of adventure. He gave us the blueprint for a full life: take it easy and follow the smoke.
