Julie Marie DiGiovanni, three year resident of Santa Clarita, passed away at the age of 44 on Thursday, January 24, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on June 14th, 1968 to Francis Kuntz and Carol Battaglia in Buffalo, New York.
“To most outsiders, Julie was seen as a strong independent woman who was very caring, compassionate, and always putting others before her. Yes, In fact she was all that, but I was privileged to see her other side, the side of her that did not want to be in charge, to be spoiled, or to be taken care of by someone else. It was this other side, the side that allowed her to just have fun and go with the flow, which I loved the most. I didn’t think of us as husband and wife. I considered us best friends, who just happened to be married for 25 years.”
Julie is survived by her husband Dan DiGiovanni, her son Daniel Jr., her daughter Lea DiGiovanni, her mother and father Carol Holden and Francis Kuntz, her brothers Stan Nowak, Nathan Nowak, Fran Martin, Mark Kuntz, her sister Jennifer Acker, numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
A funeral service will be held for Julie on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Episcopal Church, located at 1020 N. Brand Blvd, Glendale, California 91202.
In Lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to St. Marks Church, or to the American Cancer Society.
