Kent was the oldest son of William and Theresa Volding. He met his wife Cindy at Burroughs High School in Burbank, California and they married in March 1958. They moved to Valencia in 1976, where they enjoyed living ever since. Kent received his engineering degree from California State University Los Angeles and worked as a mechanical engineer until his retirement. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed camping, waterskiing, playing golf and traveling with Cindy.
Kent is predeceased by his parents; his brother William; son Michael; and grandson Matthew. He is survived by his wife Cindy; their children Craig (Sandy Troxell), Karen Mitchell (David), Kathy Spencer (Greg), and Krista Block (Chris); his grandchildren David, Kendal, Cody, Devynn, Eryn, Madeline, Kyle, Allyson, Blake, Elena and Dane, his daughter-in-law Emily Olson-Volding and is sister-in-law Susan Volding.
