

Margaret “Meg” Giovannone, age 74, passed away in Santa Clarita on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was born on November 2, 1942 in Steubenville, Ohio to Michael and Mary Flanigan. After graduating from Catholic Central High School in 1960, Meg received her nursing degree from Mt. St. Joseph’s in Cincinnati, Ohio and worked as a Registered Nurse at UCLA.
Meg married Anthony Giovannone in 1971 and moved to Santa Clarita in 1973 where they raised two sons. She was a proud homemaker and a Mary Kay consultant for over 30 years. Meg was an active parishioner of St. Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Church where she was instrumental in the creation of the Bereavement Ministry. Her faith and a commitment to the service of others led her to spend countless hours involved in many parish activities.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Michael Flanigan, and husband Anthony. She is survived by her sons Adrian (Joan), Dion, and grandson Vincent; sister Mary Bradley (Denis); brothers Joe Flanigan and Dennis Flanigan (June). Meg will be remembered by her family, nieces, and friends for her love of gardening, irresistible baked goods, and her contagious smile.
A viewing will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm, at Eternal Valley Memorial Park. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Eternal Valley Memorial Park.
