Michael Samuel Kelly was born Michael Angelo Gamboa on July 3, 2000 and was adopted by Randy and Ronnell Kelly on June 19, 2002. Michael was saved on December 1, 2005. Michael loved hanging out with friends from church, vacationing with family, swimming and skate boarding along with playing team sports. He played football and basketball at one of the local parks, but really excelled as a talented volleyball and baseball player through his teen years. Michael was home schooled through 11th grade and graduated from Sylmar BIOTECH Academy in May 2017. Shortly after graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps, but was medically discharged half way through boot camp. Unable to re-enlist, Michael spent the next couple of years working for the City of LA Recreation and Parks Department and working various part time jobs, and learning the game of golf (he was pretty good at it like he was at all sports) The Tuesday before he passed away he was extremely excited to finally be starting a new full time job as an apprentice plumber.
Michael is survived by his parents Randy and Ronnell Kelly, birth mother Blanca Martinez, brother Bryan, sister Ashlyn, niece Sofia, who Michael was very fond of, biological brothers Jose, Arturo, and Alex Macias, Victor Gamboa, and biological sisters Bianca and Elizabeth Macias, and Elenna Pattee. Michael is also survived by his grand-mother Claudia Hawkins. Michael was adopted into a very large family and is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Kelly, Rickman, Christman, Smith, Brooks, Childs, Wallace, Wright, Reed, Hamilton, Hawkins, and McGee families.
