

83 years ago today, Palmer was born in Fairmount, Indiana to Alva and Olive Yale. He grew up on his family's farm with his brother Paul and sister, Marlene. He attended Center School in Liberty Township, a one room schoolhouse, where his classmate and friend was the famous actor, "James Dean". Palmer graduated from Fairmount High School in 1947. Palmer attended Anderson University in Anderson Indiana graduating with a degree in Theology. He then joined the United State Marine Corps in 1951 and was in active duty in the Korean War. He met the love of his life, Margaret Ann Stern, at a church revival in Anderson Indiana. They were married on October 25th 1952. Three years later they had a daughter, Sue Ann. In 1957 Palmer packed up and moved his family to California. Four years later he and Margaret had another daughter, Laura Lee. In addition to his daughters he had two foster boys, Dale and Gene Becker who he loved as his own. Palmer and Margaret were married for 37 years until Margaret passed away at the unexpected age of 60. Palmer is survived by his daughters Sue Shaw and Laura Yale, his son Gene Becker, and his grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin and Patrick Shaw.
