

Pat was born on January 21, 1945, in Laconia, NH to Erwin C. Young and Eva M. Dow. She grew up in Laconia, NH and graduated from Quimby School in 1963. She was the youngest of five siblings who she is now reunited with.
Patricia joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1965. After her baptism, she moved to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University. After graduating with a degree in Social Work, she moved to Los Angeles, CA where she met her husband Vincent Recalde at church in the Wilshire Ward. They were married on August 27, 1971 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. At the time of her death, they had just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. They welcomed their first daughter, Vinicia in 1972 after which they moved to Daly City, CA for Vince to complete his MBA. Their second daughter, Kara was born the following year. They purchased their first home in Glendale, CA, where they welcomed their two sons John and Daniel. In 1980, they moved to North Hollywood, CA, where they would live for 37 years. Pat was a homemaker for the first 20 years of their marriage. Pat obtained her teaching credentials and taught first grade for almost 20 years. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many different capacities including the Primary, Young Women, Sunday School, and Relief Society. She is remembered as being the first to arrive and the last to leave any church event. Through her service, she touched the lives of so many people. She was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a den leader and merit badge counselor. One of her proudest moments was watching her son Daniel obtain his Eagle Scout.
Pat was talented and had many interests. She was an excellent cook, wrote short stories, devoted genealogist, an avid reader, loved decorating for the holidays, and was the ultimate soccer mom! Pat was a very proud New Englander, and never missed the opportunity to brag that she was from New Hampshire.
Pat did not have a mean bone in her body. She loved everyone she met and was a friend to all. Once you met her you knew you had a friend for life. She loved making people happy, which she exemplified through acts of service and kindness. Pat was an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother, and never missed an opportunity to show her pride for her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. She adored her grandchildren and loved to spend time with them whenever she could, especially being able to see her first granddaughter marry.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Eva, and her five siblings. She is survived by her husband Vincent, daughters Vinicia Recalde and Kara (Jason) Lehr, sons John (Brittany) and Daniel (Jamie), her grandchildren Kate (Kaleb) Burch, Julia Lehr, Levi Lehr, Mira Recalde, Scout Recalde, Lauren Recalde, Isaac Recalde, Roman Recalde, and Jonah Recalde.
