Phil Aguilar was born in Mexico City, Mexico on March 24, 1940 to Joseph Aguilar and Victoria Ortiz. Phil was blessed with four siblings; Connie Lopez, Rosinda Meredith, Maria Elena Baca, Hilda Granado and Francisco Aguilar. Phil immigrated to the United States with his sister Connie in the early 1950’s. Phil and his family moved to Burbank, California where he attended school.
Phil met Sandra Reid in Atwater Village, California. They married in 1962. Phil and Sandra had four children, three boys, James, Anthony, Phillip, and a daughter Kathryn.
Phil remarried Alicia Palomares in 1991, whom he had known since he was a young man.
Taught by his father at an early age, Phil learned the skills of a machinist. Phil was very successful, owning several machine shops throughout the years. Phil was proud of his alliance with Panavision, one of the largest motion picture and television equipment companies. Phil was a hard worker and took pride in his trade. He truly enjoyed every moment of being a machinist.
After more than 60 years as a successful business owner he retired in 2018.
Phil enjoyed building model airplanes, watching Jeopardy and football on Sundays. He was a dedicated Los Angeles Rams fan! Phil also enjoyed cooking, experiencing new restaurants, taking road trips and spending time with his family.
Phil’s greatest joy was his four children, Daughters in-law, Son-in-law, Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. They brought him happiness, made him smile and brightened his every moment.
Phil was the most loving, caring and generous man and will be dearly missed by all the lives he touched.
