Rene Slate Ramirez passed away on August 17, 2013. He was 63. Born in Douglas, AZ, a resident of Oakley, CA but always an Angeleno at heart. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, God decided that the struggle had been too long and he was ready to add another angel to the heavens.
He is survived by, Lupe Ramirez; daughter Charleen (Jose) Ramirez -Mares; sons: Rene Jr. (Deysi) Ramirez, and Robert Lee Ramirez. He also leaves four grandchildren, five brothers, one sister, a loving caretaker Joan Lancaster, and family all over the United States and Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father Jesus; mother, Charlee; brother, Daniel; sister, Virginia; nephew, Manuel; and nephew Nicky.
Rene will be remembered as an outdoors man who loved fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed cooking and working on cars. Rene was extremely loving and proud of his children and grandchildren. His family is at peace knowing that they have their own guardian angel watching over them.
