Rosa Maria Castro was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States eventually settling in the Los Angeles area with her husband, Basilio Castro. Together they had three children. She was as a master seamstress earning a stellar reputation for her skills and attention to detail. She handmade uniforms for dancers, cheerleaders, and drill teams for many local area schools. She also hand crafted intricate wedding, prom, and quinceañera dresses. She was in constant demand as she enjoyed making all her clients happy with custom designed gowns. It was truly her passion and it showed in her creations that started out with an idea from each client. After her children moved on with their lives, she retired in Palmdale with her husband. She lived happily in her home until her final days. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughter and care team. She is survived by her three children, Heriberto Castro, Illiana Lopez, and Larisa Bernstein as well as
five grandchildren and one great grandson.
