Yousef Bassirpour

Mohamad Yousef Bassirpour (Youci - Joseph), born January 17, 1955 in Tabris, Iran to Ezatolah Bassirpour and Manijeh Torfeh. He attended Andisheh (Don Bosco) High School for boys in Tehran, graduated and came to America to attend college at University of Anarbor, Michigan. Not enjoying the cold, he transferred to the University of Southern California, completing his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Urban Planning and Architecture. After 2 years as a draftsman he discovered his talent and passion for fashion and this began his 30 + year career in the fashion industry as an owner, designer and manufacturer.

Yousef is survived by his wife of 27 years Clare, his sons Cameron Yousef and Nicholas Morgan, his mother Manijeh Torfeh-Perot (Jeane) of Paris, France, his sisters Chirine Ghiai (Jeane Luc) and Nadia Ghiai both of France, his uncle Mamal Torfeh (Fery) of London and Paris, His Aunt Maryam Armstrong-James (Neil) of London, His Aunt Massoume Torfeh of London, His cousins; Darius Armstrong-James (Teresa) Cyrus Armstrong-James, Francis Outred (Helen) of London, Roxanne Torfeh (Richard) of London and Paris, Afsaneh Bassir Pour of Belgium and Homeyra Crespi of Paris.

Sister and brother-in-laws; Marguerite Telnack (Jack) of Michigan, Leslie Frankenhimer (John) of Los Angeles CA, Neil McCarthy of Torrance CA, Sheila Ringe (David) of Florida, Sean McCarthy of Woodland Hills CA, Honore Rausch (Jeff) of Westlake Village CA, Mary Borowy (Rich) of Woodland Hills, CA, Georgette Caplan (Mark) of Philadelphia, PA. 11 nieces and nephews and countless cousins and cousins-in-law from around the world. He is pre-deceased by his father Ezat Bassirpour and his mother and father in-law Georgette and Neil McCarthy.

He was a gentle loving man and a bright shining light in our lives and he will be greatly missed. He is at peace now embraced in God’s loving arms.
