Charles K. (Kenny) Carter

Born August 30, 1942, he was the son of the late Pinkney M. Carter and Woodie Headen Carter.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepson, Gerald D. Davis and brothers, Howard (Bogie) Carter and Joe Carter.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years, Bessie Ashley Carter; son, Charles K. (Chuck) Carter, Jr. and wife, Cheryl Liddy Carter of Hampstead, NC; beloved sister, Betty Jean Eckard & husband, Barry of Burnsville, NC; brothers, Robert (Bob) Carter and wife, Jean of Conover, NC, Doyle Carter and wife, Janie of Hickory, NC, Richard Carter and wife, Carolyn of Lincolnton, NC, Marvin Carter of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren Caityln Carter, Cassandra Gibon and husband, Matt, Scott Teubner, Travis Davis; and four great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Thompson officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton.
