He was born June 20, 1953 and was the son of the late Homer and Rosa Edwards Day. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved photography.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Marsha Day; brother, Leon Day; sister, Mary Ann Fox.
Eugene is survived by his sons, Jason Day and wife Courtney, Lee Strange and wife Jillian; daughters, Diana Padgett and husband John, Mary Moore and husband Wayne; brothers, James Day and wife Wilma, LeeRoy Day; sister, Brenda Justus and husband Gary; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care at 526 Pine Mountain Rd Hudson, NC 28638.
